What the Heck is Copyright? Disney?

Once a semester I will give a little speech about copyright laws, but first I show this really cool animation - A Fair(y) Use Tail. It was created by professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University and in a humorous review of copyright principles. I generally show it twice or at least show part rewind and play it again. Reason is, it is so entertaining that students look past the meaning at first. It is awesome to watch, but you do have to focus. It is blocked here . . .

Hewlett Packard Video

Hewlett Packard ROCKS!!! They have been supporting us for the last few years now and really want to support education. Anytime we have had problems, they have been right there for us.

Last year Hewlett Packard asked if they could create a video about Digital-Evolutions. I thought it was a great idea and it gives you a little background about our program.

Check it out!

Raiders of the Lost Ark - The Student Film

One of my animator friends told me about - Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation . . . A fan adaptation.

After watching Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1982, three middle school students began filming their own shot-by-shot adaptation of the film. It took them seven years to finish it. Now it is on tour, almost 20 years later.

I showed parts of this film to my class to inspire them. Many have created short films on their own and could really appreciate a student film that was almost 2 hours long. And created without a computer.
There is a showing of the film in Boulder tonight, but I can't make it and a student lecture the following day.
